Challenge

Dr. Mancini’s biggest technology challenge has always been to have a reliable system that can efficiently and quickly perform equally at both locations. Previously he has had a physical server at each location which both inadequately performed and left him with several never ending issues. IPM Computers was given the task to not only help him renovate and build his new second location, but also reconstruct his entire technology solution so that his entire operation could operate reliably without issue.

Solution

IPM Computers Owner Greg Rogers and fellow technicians worked with Dr. Mancini and his staff at the beginning of the architectural drawing phase to help design the foundation of his system with proper CAT6A networking and the correct amount of wireless access points to provide 100% wireless coverage across his offices.

We also chose to utilize a full end to end Spectrum MetroE fiber connection linking the two properties via gigabit fiber. With this solution we were able to utilize a single physical server with multiple virtual servers inside with SSD enterprise grade storage.

This enables us to have a cohesive fast reliable network spread across both the Hampstead and Jacksonville offices which allows their software Dolphin Imaging and Dolphin Management to handle taking X-Rays and storing patient data fast and secure.

We utilized our full suite of cloud managed everything. Battery backup, power outlets, switches, routers, wifi, and backups are all managed by our in house technicians.

We utilized our managed software services allowing us to keep all computers, servers, and networking equipment up to date as soon as updates become available. The enterprise grade anti-virus scans on a regular basis and reports back to us in real time with any issues that may arise. If anything were to occur, the technicians in our office have the ability to remote into every piece of equipment to troubleshoot and repair immediately.

During the off hours when our technicians are asleep and our office is closed, we utilize a 24×7 security operations center to oversee our cybersecurity aspects to further protect the patient information and systems of Dr. Mancini’s office.

Finally we installed our VOIP phone system which allows them to close and open their phone system with the flexible hours of their office while also being remotely managed via us. In the case of a hurricane, IPM Computers can help with any last minute changes that hurricanes bring to business operations and changing the way the phones operate immediately.

Results

Opening day was successful with all systems go utilizing Spectrum fiber internet for primary internet. We had to redesign the Spectrum network to get the response time down from 30ms to 5ms. This has greatly decreased the time it takes for X-Rays to be taken and has made applications much more responsive. We are now finishing our first month in the new office and it has maintained a perfect up time to date.

All adjustments have been minimal as expected but also immediately handled by our staff. Employees are satisfied with how everything has been implemented.

This office is ready to run for years to come!
